PEEWEE TIER 2 The Player's Bench Raiders lost in a semifinal at a tournament in Penticton. The Raiders opened with a 4-1 victory over the Chilliwack Bruins, with Breckin Erichuk scoring two goals in support of goaltender Jarrett Larsen. Elias Wallace and Eric Marasco had the other Kamloops goals, and Tyson Gayfer had two assists. Ethan Langenegger stopped all 20 shots he faced as the Raiders drumped the Coquitlam Chiefs 5-0. Hunter Klassen scored two goals in the victory, and Justin MacInnes, Gayfer and Erichuk singled. Wallace and Tyler Bruins-Slot each had two assists. The Raiders wrapped up the round-robin with a 2-2 draw against Seafair. Wallace assisted on both goals, scored by Cole Howaniec and Erichuk, and Larsen was the Kamloops goaltender. The tie moved Kamloops into a semifinal, where it dropped a 3-2 heartbreaker in overtime. Marasco had both Kamloops goals, and Langenegger was in goal. * * * BANTAM RECREATIONAL Austin Mark-Hashimoto scored four times Saturday but it wasn't enough as his Thunder lost 7-6 to the Rockets. Ryland Nakashima and Tyson Jones also scored for the Thunder. The Rockets got three goals from Pacific Thompson and singles from Jared Ehler, Hayden Smale, Pierce Husser and Tim Lapierre. --- Zach Rachynski scored two goals and set up two others Saturday as the Big-O Tire Eagles got past the Northern Trailer Oilers, 7-5. Matthew Erichuk, with two, Justin Howson, Cael Carter and Alex Mori also scored for the Eagles, who had Teagan Leslie and Jesse Stahl share the goaltending. Brayden Jensen, with two, Kyle McIlwain, Cody Ouelette and Keyron Pavlovich scored for the Oilers, who were short on goaltenders and were "graciously lent" the use of Leslie and Stahl for the game. * * * BANTAM TIER 2 The Player's Bench Predators spent the weekend at a tournament in Salmon Arm. They opened Carton Cigarettes with an 8-4 victory over Kelowna on Friday. Bryce McDonald and Rylan Van Unen, each with two, Brysen Watson, Rylan Douglas and Michael Van Unen had seven of the goals. The other scorer's name was unavailable. Matthew Hicketts was in goal. In their next game, the Predators got three goals and two assists from Max Patterson and two goals and three Cheap Cartons Of Cigarettes assists from McDonald in an 8-2 victory over Prince George. Mac Alberts, Matthew Facchinelli and Shae Bruyere also scored, while Stefan Nesci had four assists. Reid Gladman was in goal. Newport Carton On Saturday, Kamloops got two goals and two assists each from Patterson and Douglas as it beat Abbotsford, 8-4. Alberts helped out with a goal and two assists, while McDonald, Tony Dennis and Ryan Ignace also scored. Hicketts and Gladman split the goaltending. That put the Predators into a semifinal where they were beaten 4-2 by Williams Lake. Dennis and Nesci had the goals. Hicketts went the distance in goal. Douglas, McDonald, Patterson and Hicketts were Kamloops' MVPs. * * * PEEWEE RECREATIONAL Nolan Mongey scored three times as the Brock Auto Centre Predators dumped the Vikings 5-1 on Sunday at the McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre. Jacob Stewart and Kai Farenholtz, who had two assists, also scored for the Predators, who had Ryan Clark in goal. Connor Humphrey scored for the Vikings. Jordan Munegatto was in goal. --- The Titans and Steelheads played to an 8-8 draw. Spencer Shyiak, with four, and Liam Rose and Christopher Penner, each with two, scored for the Titans, who went with Atticus Foulds in goal. Shyiak also had two assists. The Steelheads, who had Summit Krause in goal, got two goals from each of Ethan Smith, John Black and Taylor Russell, and one each from Jarrett Mirtle and Cordell Davidson. --- Devon Tournour had two goals and two assists, Carson Desmarais scored twice and Dawson Bradley had Marlboro Lights 100S a goal and two helpers as the Badgers defeated the Kamloops Office Systems Thunderbirds 6-3. Thomas Ratuski had the other goal and Nathan Sandulescu was the Badgers' goaltender. Aidan Kennedy, Jordan Devries and Ryan Henderson scored for the T-Birds, who split the goaltending between Matthew Giroux and Josh Humphrey. * * * ATOM DEVELOPMENT The Scotiabank Bandits earned a victory and a draw in OMAHA play on the weekend. Branden Toye and Aidan Sutter each scored twice to lead the Bandits to an 8-5 victory over Merritt on Saturday. Reagan Milburn and Tyson Galloway each added a goal and two assists, and Luke Petrie and Ethan Kaban each singled in support of winning goalie Zach Kohorst. On Sunday, the Bandits had to settle for a 2-2 tie with the Kamloops 7 Points Millwork Ice Hawks. Brendan Hunchak and Reed Watson scored for the Bandits, while Jarrod Semchuk and Harjun Serown Cigarettes Wholesale replied for the Ice Hawks. Bailey Monteith stood tall for the Bandits, and Kimberley Davidson was between the pipes for the Ice Hawks.
